Camp Cornelia

Camp Cornelia is a community along the Okefenokee Swamp. People from the community had originally settled there to attempt to build a canal and drain water into the Saint Marys River, but the effort was abandoned after three years. The swamp has since been designated as the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge; Camp Cornelia has served as a base for swamp visitors, guide services, and refuge access over time, and is now the headquarters of the Wildlife Refuge.
