Chesser Island

Chesser Island is an island in Okefenokee Swamp that the Chesser family settled in the 1850s and has inhabited for generations since. The family grew their own food and made and sold syrup. The family's Homestead is now part of the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge and can be toured by visitors.
