German Memorial Fountain

This fountain in Orleans Square commemorates the religious, social, agricultural, economic, and political contributions of early German immigrants to the establishment and growth of the colony of Georgia. The fountain was erected and dedicated in 1989 by the German Heritage Society, the German Friendly Society, and the Salzburger Society. The fountain started flowing on March 13, 1989, and was formally dedicated on German-American Day on October 6, 1989.
