Glynn Academy

Glynn Academy was established on February 1, 1788, as the second oldest high school in Georgia. For over a century, the academy included all grade levels. The Old Glynn Academy Building was constructed in 1840 on Hillsborough Square and is the oldest wooden schoolhouse in Georgia. The Old Academy Building is the only remaining antebellum building in the county. Glynn Academy has several buildings on their campus including the Annex Building, the Prep Building, the Glynn Academy Building, the Wood Gym, The Sidney Lanier Building, the Gym, the Science Building, the Wolfe Street Building, and the Glynn Academy Cafe. This site is in the National Register of Historic Places.
