Habersham Brothers' Resting Place
The two Habersham brothers Joesph (1751-1815) and John (1754-1799) -- who here rest beside their distinguished father, James Habersham (1745-1799) - were prominent patriots in the American Revolution and outstanding public men during the early years of the republic. Lieutenant Colonel Joesph Habersham was also the mayor of Savannah, Postmaster General in George Washington's Cabinet, and the speaker of the General Assembly of Georgia in 1785.
