Indian Mound Rockefeller Cottage
This cottage was built by the youngest brother of John D. Rockefeller (1841- 1922), one of the millionaire members of the Jekyll Island Club. Built around1900, it was called 'Indian Mound' because of it was adjacent to the old Indian Mound, believed to be the burial mound of the Guale Indians, of Muskhogean stock, who were the earliest inhabitants of Jekyll Island.
