King-Tisdell Cottage

Originally built in 1896 by W. W. Aimar, the King-Tisdell Cottage is dedicated to preserving African-American history and culture. It features period furniture typical of a coastal black residence of the 1890s. The cottage was moved to its current location in 1970 by the City of Savannah and the Historic Savannah Foundation. Currently, It is the foundation's building. The King-Tisdell Cottage Foundation currently owns The Beach Institute African-American Cultural Center.
