Lafayette Square

Park square in historic downtown Savannah. The square was laid out in 1873 and named in honor of the Marquis de Lafayette. The centerpiece of the square is the Semi-quincentenary Fountain that the Colonial Dames of America presented to the city to commemorate the 250th anniversary of Savannah’s founding.
