Lazaretto Creek

Channel connecting Tybee Creek to the mouth of the Savannah River. Its name refers to the 18th lazaretto ("quarantine station") that was constructed on Tybee to attend to ill sailors and enslaved individuals, as a reversal of anti-slavery laws had been enacted in the same mandate.
