Little Tybee Island

Little Tybee Island is owned by the State of Georgia and covers approximately 6,780 acres, of which only 600 acres are upland. Despite its name, it is twice the area of Tybee Island to the north and includes salt marshes and sand dunes. It receives relatively few visitors due to a lack of road access and permanent structures, though camping and recreation are permitted for those who reach the island by boat. Many bird species nest in Little Tybee's marshes and forests.
