Madison Square

Park square dates to 1837. It is named after President James Madison and features several monuments - including two cannons - commemorating events of the Revolutionary War and Savannah's development.

Historical Marker text: "Madison Square was laid out in 1839 and is named for the fourth president of the United States. Around the Square stand notable examples of Greek revival, Gothic, and Romanesque architecture characteristic of nineteenth century Savannah."
