North End of Blackbeard Island

Blackbeard Island is northeast of Sapelo Island. It is thought to be named after pirates that used the island early on, like Edward Teach (born in 1718), also known as "Blackbeard." Edward Teach began his headquarters on the island in 1716. The photograph depicts the north end of the island.
