Oglethorpe Academy

Oglethorpe Academy opened in August 1999 at the Pearl Lee Smith building, which was a vacant former elementary school. On Stiles Avenue, the academy had less than 200 students with grades sixth and seventh. In 2000, the school added eighth grade. In 2004, the name of the school changed to Oglethorpe Charter School and relocated to Savannah.
