Saint Catherines North Beach

Saint Catherines most dramatic feature is a steep, 20-foot “sea bluff” overlooking its northern beach. The northmost beach itself is a Pleistocene-epoch component of a previous barrier shoreline. The area and island have experienced considerable erosion and little accretion, causing the shoreline to retreat greatly over the past century.
