Savannah and Ogeechee Canal

Canal in west Savannah that facilitated the transport of lumber and agricultural goods in the mid-19th century. Many blamed the canal for an outbreak of yellow fever that devastated the city's population in 1876. This site is on the National Register of Historical Places.
