Skidaway Learning Garden

In 2011, the UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant staff members planned a garden on Skidaway Island along with UGA landscape architects. Originally, this site was an open lawn, but they wanted to establish a low maintenance garden and a diverse maritime forest. All of the plants selected for the garden are native to Georgia's barrier islands. Skidaway Learning Garden contains the Jay Wolf Nature Trail right next to the UGA Marine Education Center and Aquarium.
