Originally constructed in 1756 by James MacKay, who was a Scottish Captain that served alongside George Washington and under General Ogelthorpe. The house was severely damaged by fire in the early 1800s and then restored in 1840 by George W. McAllistter. Later Henry Ford bought the property.
