Thiokol Memorial Project Museum

On February 3, 1971, at a Thiokol chemical plant southeast of Woodbine, a fire entered a storage facility holding nearly five tons of ignition pellets, flares, and other highly flammable materials. The facility exploded, killing 29 people and severely wounding more than 50 others, many with severed limbs.  The museum was organized to remember and honor the Thiokol Workers and all those involved in the rescue effort. Towards that end, we shall raise funds to manage the planning, construction and endowment of a memorial, education center and museum to honor the workers and all those that risked their lives to save others.
