Tybee Beach Pier And Pavillion

The original Tybee Pier and Pavillion stood for three-quarters of a century and was a landmark on the South Atlantic Ocean. It was built in 1891 be the Center of Georgia Railroad and served as an entertainment district. A fire destroyed the original pier in 1967. The second pavilion was built and dedicated on August 9, 1996. This pavilion, at the end of Tybrisa Street and near South Beach, has a pier for fishing and picnic tables open to the public.
